The Nowman Show: Indigenous People's Issues and Perspectives with Shannon Rivers

Shannon Rivers is an indigenous native of the Akimel O'otham (River People) Tribe.
He is also a former delegate at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and co-chaired the Global Indigenous People's Caucus in 2008 and 2009.

Mr. Rivers talks to host Niswander about various indigenous issues including saving and conserving our natural environment, Divest L.A., the United Nation Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Standing Rock and the Dakota Access Pipeline, solar and wind technologies, clean water, the history of indigenous populations including what is missing from history books and school curriculums, and building coalitions for solutions going forward.
