The Way Forward Ep 85: Can You Catch a Cold featuring Daniel Roytas
REQUIRED VIEWING! This is Alec Zeck interviewing author and Naturopath, Daniel Roytas of Australia. Daniel Roytas is a Naturopath, Nutritionist, and Psychotherapist who's done a 4-year deep dive into the scientific/medical literature concerning contagion by viruses and other "germs." What he discovered challenges conventional beliefs. His book, "Can You Catch A Cold?: Untold History & Human Experiments," challenges mainstream views on cold and flu transmission.
Here’s an excerpt from the Introduction:
“More recently, these sorts of gaps and inconsistencies prompted several well-credentialed, highly-experienced, and widely respected members of the academic and medical communities to to systematically appraise the scholarly literature on germs. They wanted to get to the bottom of this issue so they reviewed the available evidence (as of the early 2020s) supporting the claim that the cold and flu are caused by respiratory viruses and that these viruses are passed from sick people to healthy people. What they uncovered would shake the field of infectious disease to its core. [5 references]
Their findings can be summarized into three main points:
1. Viruses do not cause disease. There is an absence of direct evidence demonstrating a cause-and-effect relationship between viruses and infectious diseases.
2. Viruses are not contagious. Few, if any, scientific studies have unambiguously established sick-to-well transmission (i.e. contagion) of any infectious disease.
3. Viruses may not even exist. No published scientific studied have ever truly isolated a pure sample of a virus and then demonstrated its [contagious, disease-causing] characteristics.
Taken together, these points undermine the current understanding of germs and contagion. They argue that we simply do not have enough scientific evidence to support a model wherein contagious pathogens cause disease.” [end excerpt]
