Text:
Die Speere empor!
Die Schwerter heraus!
Lasst sie blinken im Morgenschein!
In mächtigem Chor,
Wie Sturmesgebraus,
Hallen Hörner ins Land hinein!
Refrain:
Hell glänzt der Sommertag
Und dumpf dröhnt der Trommelschlag:
Terum, Terum, Terum, Terum, Terum!
Fest steht unsre Schar,
Frei, aufrecht und wahr,
Glaubt an Gott und an ihre Tat!
Der Liebe das Blut,
Der Heimat das Gut,
Dem Vaterland unsere Saat!
Die Schlacht dröhnt von fern,
Nun soll unser Stern
Hinführen ins Abendrot.
Die Hände gereicht,
Das Herz wird so leicht,
Ins Leben, zum Kampf in den Tod!
---
English translation:
Raise the spears!
Draw the swords!
Let them gleam in the morning light!
In a mighty choir, like a roaring storm,
Horns resound into the country!
Refrain:
The summer day shines brightly
And the drumbeat booms dully:
Terum, Terum, Terum, Terum, Terum!
Our troop stands firmly,
Free, upright and true,
Believing in God and in their deeds!
Devoting the blood to love,
Devoting the goods to the homeland,
To the fatherland, devote our seed!
The battle thunders from afar,
Now our star shall
lead into the sunset.
Join Hands,
The heart becomes so light,
Into life, to fight until death!
